Excellence Is a Team Commitment
Employees who establish relationships with clients, care about who they are and what’s important to them, and who understand the changing needs and challenges that reflect personal preferences – this is our home team, the people who offer personal service to our clients.
Harwick Homes’ image is preserved by the people who represent the company. Each employee chosen to join the team shares our commitment to excellence, has a passion to surpass clients’ expectations and strives to set new standards in customer service.
This visible part of our family is an intimate group, employees who encourage and value personal contact with our clients. It’s important to us that our clients hear a voice, not a menu, when they call. Be welcomed by a person who greets them by name. Never, ever be disappointed. That every call, contact and request is received with an eagerness to serve.
We think it’s important to you, too.

Orchestra Performs Behind the Scenes
Quietly, meticulously and with faultless precision, the less visible part of our family works to the standards of quality that set Harwick Homes apart. Over the years, we have established with our onsite teams enduring relationships built on foundations of service, stability and quality.
Contractors orchestrate the onsite work, bringing together a group of subcontractors who are masters in their fields. They and their employees are individual artists who, like members of a symphony, work together on a single, flawless composition. Their work and our reputation pivots on superior workmanship, which begins with quality materials provided by area suppliers.
Every member of the Harwick Homes team, including Rick and Kathy Harwick, believes responsibilities to clients reach beyond job requirements. Superior residential design, meticulous attention to details and quality construction are the most visible elements of excellence.
Some of our orchestra performs behind the scenes. Other members are highly visible. All are instruments in the symphony known as a Harwick home.

Our Home Team
Harwick Homes’ reputation is shaped not only by what they do but how they do it. The “how” reaches beyond meticulous attention. to details, unsurpassed quality of construction and architectural designs that embrace individual lifestyles. The company’s success begins with a team of employees chosen for their superior expertise; people who share our passion for surpassing customer expectations and who work together to set new standards in customer satisfaction. This is our home team.
Rick and Kathy Harwick
The Harwicks brought their Midwest values and ethics to Southwest Florida in 1986 and established the company that is among the industry’s elite. Rick, President of Harwick Homes, and Kathy, Secretary/Treasurer, relocated from Michigan, lured by the same extraordinary lifestyle that captivates clients who choose Harwick Homes. Today, they are among the most respected members of the construction industry. Longevity, stability and financial strength distinguish the company; a commitment to excellence in both their work and the community distinguishes them. Rick and Kathy volunteer with their church and their two daughters’ school, and they share a passion to protect and preserve for future families the same quality of life everyone enjoys today.
Mark Smith, Vice President and General Manager
Quality, personal approach to every client request or preference, and ensuring a steady stream of communications, Mark brought that nearly impossible combination of skills to Harwick Homes in 1993. From their first handshakes, clients recognize his singular abilities that have been honed by more than two decades in the industry – a penchant for perfection and an understanding of our clients’ highly individual lifestyles. As a certified general contractor, he knows how to meet and exceed those expectations.
Preston Brown, Superintendent
Visitors to the site of a home under construction are likely to meet Preston, whose industry experience reaches to 1987. In addition to being a certified general contractor, he holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida. He joined the team in 1998, and clients repeatedly comment about his ability to listen to, understand and meet requests and preferences.
Jim Nelson, Superintendent
Jim’s enthusiasm and outgoing nature is on par with his outstanding industry experience that began during his college years in 1976 and includes certification as a general contractor. Site visits are simply a way of business for Harwick Homes, and Jim is often part of the tour team to keep clients current in the construction process. He encourages questions and welcomes every opportunity to accommodate special requests.
Phil Washell, Superintendent
Phil a certified contractor, is definitely an asset to our company. He is both a good listener and communicator, and he is able to handle the responsibility well.
Steven Marks, Comptroller
Maintaining financial records is just part of the job for Steven, who works to distinguish Harwick Homes in another area. Clients differ in how involved they want to be in budget administration. Accountings of day-to-day billings or periodic reports – whatever the choice, Steven will work with them.
Kathy Katasak, Project Manager
A house becomes a haven when it captures the lifestyle of the owner. Since 1999, Kathy has helped make that happen by working with clients as they make decisions from interior colors to cabinetry. It’s her pleasure to coordinate meetings between clients and vendors and make the building process a pleasurable one.
Alexandra Brennan, Project Manager
The process that makes a home happen is coordinated here – permitting, reviews, proposals and client selections are just a few of the ways “Alex” contributes to making the building experience progress smoothly. Clients hear from Alex often, with updates, which she’s been doing with Harwick Homes since 2000.
Manon Tardif, Assistant Project Manager & Receptionist
Manon is very organized and expects perfection with her work as Project Manager. You may also see her smiling face when you enter the office. She is very warm, friendly and always willing to help out.
Tori Prestigiacamo, Superintendent
Tori always gives his best to both our customers and team. He always demonstrates excellent follow up and follow thru on each jobsite.
